Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat, is encouraging the public community role to overcome waste problem on the banks of Ciliwung.

All the components involved to handle waste and replant the banks with endemic plants

Djarot said public role is essential thing. Therefore, public aspirations must be heard and collected.

"I hear more of their aspirations. Thing that makes me happy is public has a high awareness including pengajian (Koran recital) community," he said, when he reviewed the condition of Ciliwung Riverbank, Bale Kambang, Kramatjati, East Jakarta, Thursday (11/19).

On that occasion, he collected citizen aspirations who do not have Waste Disposal Temporary (TPS). Hence, he will coordinate with local urban village and Jakarta Cleanliness Department to prepare the location and waste container.

Citizens were also asked to conduct the sorting waste from home. Later on, dry waste would be purchased by waste bank to be reprocessed. While the wet waste would be made into compost material.

"I want my message delivered to the pilgrims, communities, including coordination with headman as well. By so, for Ciliwung, all the components involved to handle waste and replant the banks with endemic plants," he closed.
